Educational cooperation: During the last decades, approximately five thousand Vietnamese students finished their studies in the Hungarian higher education. Even currently, more than 200 Vietnamese students are studying in Hungary with Hungarian state scholarship. On the occasion of the opening of the FAO Regional Centre, the Hungarian Government has offered 20 scholarships to Vietnam for Master Studies in Hungary in the field of agriculture. On 7 October 2011 in Budapest, the Hungarian Minister of Education and the Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Education signed the Educational Work Plan for 2011-14. The Agreement on Educational Cooperation between the Government of Hungary and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was signed on 5 March 2013, and for its implementation an Educational Exchange program for 2013-2015 was signed on 29 July 2013 by the Ministry of Education and Training of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary. The exchange program implements the Hungarian Government’s Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program, which ensures a place for 100 Vietnamese students in state-owned higher education institutions in Hungary.

Cultural cooperation: The first cultural and scientific cooperation agreement between the two governments was signed in 1975 which was eventually renewed with new content in March 2013 by signing the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of Hungary. For the implementation of the intergovernmental agreement, a cultural work plan for 2014-16 was signed in September 2013.

Cooperation in the field of science and technology: The Hungarian - Vietnamese Joint Committee on Science and Technology was created in 2007, its last meeting took place in Budapest in February 2010. In 2013, visits on the deputy ministerial and expert level have taken place. At the margin of the Joint Economic Committee in November 2013, the two working groups agreed on the framework of further cooperation.

The Embassy regularly participates in the European Film Festival, where several Hungarian films (ex. White Palms, Made in Hungaria, Glass Tiger 3, etc.) have been shown.
