Entry to Hungary:

For Vietnamese citizens and applicants from third countries who live in Vietnam habitually and are holder of a Vietnamese residence permit the visa procedure at the Consular Office of the Embassy of Hungary in Hanoi is the following:

Prior appointment booking is necessary.

Please attach the following documents/details to your appointment-booking letter:

  • For all type of applications (long- and short term visas):
    • personal data (name, place of birth, date of birth, e-mail address, phone number, address)
    • purpose(s) of your travel (in case of multiple purposes please include all of them).


  • Long-term visa or residence permit case – duration of stay is more than 90 days
    • Applications for employment purpose: certificate of qualification- and knowledge of foreign language (if any), the name and the contact details of the employer.

It is IMPORTANT that in these cases only the employee, the employer or their legal representative is allowed to book an appointment. In case of legal representation the legal interest needs to be certified by attaching a labor contract of the applicant or a power of attorney. (The draft of these documents are not sufficient.) The same applies to applicants being represented by recruitment agencies.

  • Applications for family reunification purpose: certification of family relationship (e.g. family book, birth or marriage certificate), or a power of attorney.
